British tourist dies from Corfu balcony fall in suspected suicide
A British tourist has died after falling off the balcony of his third-floor hotel room on the island of Corfu shortly after midnight on Monday in what police believe to be a suicide, the state-run Athens-Macedonian News Agency reported Tuesday.
The 46-year-old had been vacationing with his partner for a few days on the Kanoni peninsula, south of Corfu Town, according to local reports.
The island’s medical examiner Ioannis Aivatidis said authorities were to examine the side effects of the antidepressants the man is believed to have been taking.
Authorities have ruled out any foul play in connection with the man’s death, local reports said.
