Paschos Mandravelis was born in Kozani in 1963. He studied Economics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and Μedia at the New School in New York City. He has published several books, including “They Said: A Dictionary of Intelligent Speech” by Kastanioti Publications and “Exercises on Liberalism” by Dardanos Publications. He has also translated David Brown’s “Cybertrends” for Kastanioti Publications. He currently works as an opinions writer for Kathimerini.
There were many who resented Margaret Thatcher when she said, “There is no such thing as society” – not that they would not resent her if she didn’t. Even today, many politicians (without belonging to the left) repeat the buzzword with a grimace of abhorrence for its quasi-social neoliberalism.
