Cultural and Creative Industries (CCIs) are the heart and soul of Europe. They highlight both our diversity and unity, and inspire us to innovate. The cultural and creative sectors are key drivers of economic growth and job creation across Europe but have been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic and ensuing crisis. The suspension of cultural and creative activities has led to widespread job loss and economic disruption. It is therefore critical to support these industries by creating new opportunities for innovation, education, business creation and acceleration. This will power the next generation of innovators and creatives across Europe.

By uniting cupan-European innovation ecosystem, EIT Culture and Creativity will deliver innovative solutions to help these industries and sectors become stronger and more resilient.  It would train the sector’s future entrepreneurs, power its cutting-edge ventures, and deliver innovative solutions to the challenges facing the sectors. It would also bridge regional innovation gaps and harness the power of these sectors to support Europe’s cultural leadership.

The European Commission’s proposal for the EIT Strategic Innovation Agenda (SIA) for 2021-2027, including the possibility to establish a new EIT Knowledge and Innovation Community tackling challenges in the cultural and creative industries, is currently being negotiated by the European Institutions (Europea.n Parliament, Council and Commission). Depending on how the negotiations unfold, the EIT expects to launch a Call for Proposals for this new Knowledge and Innovation Community in the coming years. So get ready to join Europe’s largest innovation network and innovate with us.
