Our Stakeholders & Partners

The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) is a flexible and responsive EU body that supports a pan-European community of innovators from business, research and education. To make innovation happen, we work alongside a broad array of stakeholders and partners. The key EU institutions – the European Commission, the European Parliament, and the Council of the EU – determine our funding and long-term strategy. Our work is fully aligned with EU policy priorities and strategic objectives.

National and regional governments are major drivers of the EIT’s innovation efforts. Through regular communication, coordination, and bilateral agreements, the EIT and EU Member States, as well as Horizon 2020 Associated Countries, learn from one another, cooperate on joint initiatives, and ensure that national stakeholders are connected to the opportunities provided by the EIT Community.

The EIT is beholden to its community of innovators from business, research, and education. We guide and coordinate our Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs) to ensure that the EIT Community is strong, unified, and delivering on EU priorities. We showcase the work of our innovators, share best practice, and cultivate the relationships that drive our work. Just as importantly, we work hard to make sure our activities are open to innovators and entrepreneurs from all over Europe and beyond.

Every year, we organise the EIT Stakeholder Forum to engage with our stakeholders & partners. The event displays the EIT Community’s achievements and provides a platform for stakeholders to contribute to our activities and long-term strategy.
