    In 2019 the EWORX Team increased by 10%, with the major growth being in our Data Science department. As the EWORX Team grew so did our client base which was extended to include the following accounts:

  • And we carry on

    The new-year starts with the launch of the Europe's Most Wanted Website for Europol, the EU’s law enforcement agency, in the Netherlands. In February, we are awarded a new contract with the Community Plant Variety Office (CPVO) in France.

    On 19th of February, we launched our new website.

    A new market opens up through our contract with the Dubai based Advoice in United Arab Emirates.

    We are awarded the continuation of Framework Contracts with the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) in Belgium and the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) in Lithuania.

    New contracts are won with:

    • The European Training Foundation (ETF) in Italy for the provision of Digital and Web Services;
    • The European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (CEDEFOP) in Greece for the Skills Panorama Service; and
    • The European Union Institute for Security Studies (EUISS) in France.

  • And more clients

    New web based framework contracts are signed with: the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) in Slovenia, the European Chemical Agency (ECHA) in Finland, and the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (Cedefop) in Greece. A service contract for the conceptual and technical update of the EuroGender website is also awarded to Eworx.

    We launch a state of the art data visualisation web application for EIGE’s Database on Gender Statistics (DGS) and for the same organisation we update the interface for the Gender Equality Index. We also launch a high profile infovisual which promotes the EIT’s brand and operations.

    Topping off a successful year, we receive a Bronze Award as a Top Services Company in the Greek Exports Awards 2015.

  • More awards

    Building on our experience in the online news sector, the year began with the signing of a contract for re-design and implementation of Kathimerini.gr, one of Greece’s biggest press portals. Our design work earned us a European Newspaper Award for the innovative digital presentation within the "Research" section and the "Cruise without a Strategic Plan" feature.

    We also signed framework contracts with Directorate-General for Communication (DG COMM) in Belgium, the European Environment Agency (EEA) in Denmark and Europol, the EU’s law enforcement agency, in the Netherlands.

  • Staff and clients increase

    As staff numbers continue to grow, we sign new framework contracts with:

    • The Directorate-General Enterprise and Industry (DG ENTR) in Belgium for the mapping and performance check for the supply of accessible tourism services in Europe;
    • Publications Office of the European Union in Luxembourg for the provision of graphic design services (paper and electronic media); and
    • The European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (Cedefop) in Greece for web development, support and maintenance services for its official website.

    We also secure an extension of our previous framework contract with the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) in Germany and are awarded the 2013 Greek E-Award (in the Independent News category) for our work on Protagon.gr.

    In December, we were awarded the service contract from the European Parliament in Belgium for the development and implementation of a web-based pre-selection test tool for candidate auxiliary interpreters.

  • Going international

    Staff numbers increase to 30, as we secure the continuation of our previous framework contract with the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) in Belgium.

    Following the successful delivery of the EuroGender website, we gain another framework contract from the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) in Lithuania for the provision of web communication services.

    In June, Eworx International is founded to bolster our presence at the heart of Europe in Brussels.

    We sign a four-year framework contract with the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) in Hungary for digital communication services.

  • Bigger and better

    The company begins to provide consultancy services to the European Chemical Agency (ECHA) in Finland.

    It also installs the Martix application for the European Union Agency for Network and Information Security (ENISA) in Greece.

    Furthermore, we provide marketing and visualisation services to the European Research Council Executive Agency (ERCEA) in Belgium.

    In Greece, we develop a new portal for bedding company Coco-Mat, which is delivered in ten stand-alone and multilingual country websites for the United States and Canada, China, Spain, Germany, Holland, Greece, Belgium, Cyprus, Saudi Arabia, France, South Korea and Italy.

    Towards the end of the year, the company won the contract to develop the EuroGender website for the European Institute for Gender Equality's (EIGE) in Lithuania.

  • News is business

    Following our successful involvement with Enet and Newstime, the company was asked to develop Protagon.gr, the biggest opinion website in Greece.

    On the European front, two framework contracts were secured.

    One was with the European Fisheries Control Agency (EFCA ) in Spain regarding the development of a very important application that monitors fishing in European waters.

    The other was with existing client Eurofound (European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions) in Ireland for the provision of web application maintenance and application development services.

  • Year of awards

    A new year, new standards and a new contract to evaluate Web accessibility in European countries. The project was led by Empirica (Germany), with participation from both the Work Research Centre (Ireland) and Eworx, whereas funding was provided by DG Information Society.

    Our re-design of the Hellenic American University (HAU) portal earned us our first Ermis Award, presented by the Greek Association of Advertising and Communications. We also pick up an Ermis for our work on the news website Newstime.gr.

    In the cultural sector we launch the website for the artist Apostolos Koustas and secure projects for the development of websites for Domna Samiou, one of Greece’s most famous folk artists, and the Athens State Orchestra.

    A contract is signed with the European Commission's DG for Communication to develop the ED Intranet, a communication and reporting tool for Europe Direct Network (EDN) members around Europe.

    We continued our collaboration with the European Union for Fundamental Rights (FRA) in Austria where we are awarded two new framework contracts for the provision of internet and intranet web based services.

  • New offices

    We ring in the New Year in our new offices in Halandri, eastern Athens.

    The company signs a framework contract with the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) in Belgium. Eleftherotypia, then one of the most popular newspapers in Greece, asks the company to develop a new CMS based news portal. Our ToolipTM CMS undergoes major optimisation to handle the envisioned increase in traffic.

    We participate as technical partners on the OASIS project, funded by DG Information Society under the 7th Framework Programme, and sign a contract with the EMCDDA in Lisbon for the provision of a system to support its grant agreements and other project management activities.

    A new framework contract is secured with the Eurofound in Ireland for the provision of services to support its internal information systems

  • On the move

    We sign a new framework contract with the European Union for Fundamental Rights (FRA), in Austria for application services and participate as technical partners in the high profile and successful ProMenPol Project undertaken by organisations from Germany, Austria, Ireland, Finland, Estonia, Greece and Belgium and funded by the European Commission under the 6th Framework Programme.

    On the home front we launch the first website for the Hellenic Festival and develop an integrated e-government solution for the Greek Ministry of Employment and Social Affairs.

    Having outgrown our first offices, we spend December packing in preparation for a move to bigger premises.

  • Staff growth

    Staff numbers increase to 20, as new contracts are secured with Empirica in Germany who together with the Work Research Centre (WRC) in Ireland, on behalf of DG Information Society we conducted a European wide study which provided qualitative and quantitative evidence to support policy decision making in the area of eAccessibility.

    Projx our web-based Project Portfolio Management System which is customized to address the project management needs and requirements of European Agencies begins its design and implementation cycle.

    In the cultural field we launched the website for the Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art and the musical folklore archives, Melpo Merlie.

    At the end of the year, we signed a contract with the Greek Ombudsman for consultancy, development and maintenance services.

  • New era

    Embarking on a new era, the company is awarded important contracts with the Ireland-based European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions (Eurofound) and with the European Union Agency for Network and Information Security (ENISA), which is headquartered in Greece, for the redesign of its website.

    In addition, the VISP project (funded under the 6th Framework Programme) began on September 2005, in partnership with several important companies and universities from across Europe.

    Furthermore, as a consortium coordinator, EWORX signed a grant agreement with the European Commission's Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities (Belgium) for the Social Dialogue Network Project (SDNet). The project involved the collection and dissemination of European policies, practices and innovative developments related to the vocational training and employment of people with disability.

  • Olympic year

    In the same year as the Athens Olympic Games, we started working with the EU Bookshop, a project of the Publications Office of the European Union.

    We also developed sites for the sculptress Alex Mylona and the Hellenic Institute for Occupational Health and Safety (ELINYAE) in Greece.

    The year closed with the signing of a major EU-funded project, OSSATE (One-Stop Shop for Accessible Tourism), that marked the beginning of our involvement in accessible tourism.

    Eworx acted as the coordinator of a European consortium that included major partners, including VisitBritain (the British Tourism Authority), the Greek Ministry of Tourism, the University of Surrey, Disability Now (Greece) and other important organisations related to accessibility and/or the tourism sector.

  • European scope

    New projects begin with the Danish Centre in Denmark and the Work Research Centre in Ireland.

  • Strong growth

    New contracts are signed with the European University Association (EUA), the Greek Ombudsman for the development of an environmental protection website and the Hellenic American University (HAU) in Greece.

  • Company founded

    18-04-2001

    On the 18th of April 2001, we started with ten staff members and three Greek clients.

    Our first offices were located in Maroussi, a suburb in northern Athens.

    We signed our first major European contract (SDV project) on the last day of the year.
