The European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) is collecting and analysing relevant data and information on the impact for people’s fundamental rights of the measures taken by EU Member States in response to the outbreak of COVID-19.
The project will provide evidence-based advice on the rights to be presumed innocent until proven guilty, to be present at trial and not to self-incriminate.
In February 2018, the EU High Level Group on Non-discrimination, Equality and Diversity set up the Subgroup on Equality Data to help Member States improve the collection and use of equality data. The European Commission asked FRA to facilitate the work of this Subgroup.

It will explore relevant developments, challenges to their effectiveness and ways to maximise their impact.

This project looks at obstacles and promising practices in relation to access to remedies for victims of business-related human rights abuses. By analysing complaints mechanisms in EU Member States, this research maps what hinders and what facilitates access to remedies.
The new guidance will provide EU Member States with practical suggestions on how to respond step-by-step from the moment of identification of the child until a lasting solution in their best interests is found. It will also provide a brief overview of the relevant international and EU legal framework, especially in the area of criminal justice, victims’ rights and cross-border cooperation among EU Member States.
