Marina Restaurant Offers the Taste of the Ocean

Marina has offered exquisite seafood in Halkidiki since 1983

The boat-shaped terrace of Marina, a seafood restaurant at the small town of Nea Potidea, overlooks a picturesque fishing harbor. Boats dock at the foot of the restaurant, carrying the latest catch, that goes straight from the fishermen’s nets to the plates of diners.

A wide selection of seafood is available, including thin wafers of fish carpaccio and shrimps drowned in tomato sauce, a local delicacy known as saganaki. There’s something to tantalize all taste buds, from mussels with rice, spaghetti with shrimps to stuffed squid. Or if you like the simple taste of the sea, you can’t go wrong with grilled octopus or sea bream. Superb local wines make the meal complete.

Located on the west side of the Potidea channel at the top of the first leg of the Halkidiki peninsula, the restaurant has drawn locals and tourists alike since it first opened its doors in 1983. The town where it is located has a history which dates back to the 7th century BC when it was named Potidea, in honor of the sea god Poseidon who once blessed the region’s naval base, and continues to bless its catch of daily goodness.
