Given the exceptional circumstances and the heavy disruption caused by the COVID-19 crisis across the EU, the President of the CPVO has taken the decision to extend deadlines that fall in the period 17 March – 3 May included, until 4 May 2020 for parties to proceedings before the CPVO and the Board of Appeal.

The CPVO Annual report 2019 provides information on the CPVO priorities and achievements in the fields of R & D, international outreach, and the digital transformation of its core business activities, as well as on its finances and budget.

In 2019, the CPVO received 3 525 applications for Community plant variety right protection, reaching more 3 500 applications in a calendar year for the third time in the CPVO's history.
