Network of Eurofound Correspondents
As part of its knowledge base, Eurofound has at its disposal a network of national correspondents, based in all Member States plus Norway.
Input from the correspondents allows Eurofound to map and compare regulations, policies and practices in industrial relations, working conditions, labour markets and employment as well as in other social policy related areas.
National correspondents also report regularly on developments in working life and restructuring, allowing Eurofound to add and update information in EurWORK and the EMCC. The regular nature of reporting generates longer series of observations in some areas, so that trends can be described, for example with regards to pay, working time developments and collective bargaining. Working life country profiles are also in place and regularly updated based on information from the Network. National contributions for representativeness studies are provided. The correspondents also report on large-scale restructuring cases in their countries and regularly update information on restructuring support and legal instruments, which are presented in the EMCC’s European Restructuring Monitor (ERM) databases. Next to these regular inputs to Eurofound’s products, national correspondents also provide national information related to specific research questions which are either published in a comparative overview or feed into larger-scale research reports.
Given the tripartite structure of governance in Eurofound, national correspondents also assist Eurofound in reaching out to relevant stakeholders (primarily social partners, government departments and other key decision-makers/opinion-formers) in their respective Member State in a variety of ways. Correspondents are also in regular contact with members of Eurofound’s Management Board from the country concerned.
Participating in a European-wide network provides correspondents with a unique opportunity to share their expertise, to contribute to debates and to engage with topics relevant to the EU employment and social policy agenda.
