For the well-being of European citizens and the functioning of single-market, mobility, trans- European networks, the development of the information society, energy, and services of general interest are all essential. The Section for Transport, Energy, Infrastructure and the Information Society (TEN) covers all these issues.

The opinions are the result of close collaboration with the other European Institutions, relevant stakeholders as well as with those organisations representing civil society that are concerned by those issues.

The TEN Section acts by means of:

  • opinions: based on in-depth analyses and a consensus-building process, the EESC is helping to bring Europe’s policies more into line with the expectations of European civil society;
  • project reports;
  • studies;
  • close cooperation with the European Parliament, the European Commission, the Member States and European civil society organisations;
  • organisation of events on related topics: public hearings, conferences and meetings involving experts, policy-makers, stakeholders and the general public and
  • TEN members taking an active part in key events organised by external organisations.
